Home owners offering house sitting jobs receive all kinds of applications from all kinds of people and these will vary from nice, friendly, interesting and professional applications to bad, stupid or simply moronic ones.
Yours wants to be a nice, friendly, chatty, interesting and professional looking application and there are ways of wording your application so that if you were the person receiving it you would want to give yourself the job!
Never brag when you’re applying for a job and never talk down to the owner who is making you the offer.
Things NOT to say:
- You need me because……….
- You would be foolish to give this job to anyone else……..
- I like to invite my friends round………
- Would it be alright if I held a party or two?
- Will there be anyone checking up on me while you’re away?...
