You do need to put a few house sitting safeguards in place, even if you think you don’t!

There are a number of things you would be very wise to make sure you have completed before accepting a house sitting job and whilst you are carrying it out and everything we list here is important if you are serious about proving to home owners that you’re a house sitting expert, so that you get repeat business!

These safeguards will stand you in good stead for every house sitting job you take on:

a)   Make sure you’ve looked at the location to determine if it’s OK for you.

b)   Make sure you’ve calculated the cost of getting to the job and back.

c)   Make sure you’ve researched any work the owner wants you to do that you are not experienced in.

d)   Make sure you either have a contract in place with the owner or that they have agreed in emails just exactly what your work, responsibilities and accommodation and facilities will be. Remember that what...
